From a young age, my artistic talents were recognized by my mother, who guided me towards a career in graphic design. Little did I know that this accidental decision would lead me on a remarkable journey of self-discovery and success.

As a straight-A student and a natural artist, I excelled in my high school graphic design class, surprising even myself. Fuelled by curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, I emerged as the top student, with my painting professor acknowledging my astounding growth over the years. This early success and my mother’s unwavering belief in me laid the foundation for my future endeavors.

hey, I got my first job!

In 2014, armed with a bachelor’s degree in Design, I embarked on my professional journey. Starting as a Junior Designer in a small family company, I quickly rose and became the Head of the Design Department within a year. Breaking barriers, I was the first woman to hold a leadership position in the company. Despite my lack of knowledge in management, sales, and leadership, I embraced the challenge and built a promising future for myself and my team.

it’s time for new experiences

Driven by a desire for new experiences, I transitioned to a position as a Senior Designer in the largest Media Corporation in Serbia. Working alongside the VP Head of the design team, I honed my skills in web design, realizing my passion for digital work. However, my perspective began to shift, and I yearned for a life of freedom and flexibility, away from the constraints of corporate culture.

powerful friendship, but…

The turning point came when I met Mira, a remarkable woman who not only taught me about design but also imparted invaluable life lessons. Her unique outlook on life inspired me to break free from the corporate world. Tragically, her sudden passing left me devastated and compelled me to reevaluate my priorities.

where do I see myself?

With immense courage, I embraced the freelance lifestyle, despite the challenges of finding clients and selling myself. Though it wasn’t always easy, I officially went fully remote in 2020. Recognizing my talent and dedication, a marketing agency approached me, offering me a role as an outsourced design service provider. Witnessing the possibilities of flexible work arrangements, I realized that this was the path I was meant to follow.

what is that I want to do?

Yet, a setback awaited me as the agency disbanded its design department. Undeterred, I took a year off to rediscover myself and that’s when I enrolled in a UX/UI course. Fuelled by my insatiable curiosity, I delved into the world of app design and now find myself collaborating with international clients, crafting innovative and user-friendly experiences. And that it clicked – “This is it! This is what I want to do! I love solving problems, I love art and I believe in equity, this is the perfect field for me.” – I realized.

As I continue to grow my freelancing career, I am committed to honing my negotiating skills and empowering businesses to develop their products and brands. This unconventional way of life may not be for everyone, but it is my true calling.

Believe it or not, weirdly, I am grateful for everything and consider myself the luckiest person alive.
